BDTS is headed by Chris "Doc" Tarr, a seasoned Engineering
professional with experience in studio
design/build/maintenance, transmitter repair and
installation, Broadcast automation
maintenance/installation, and HD Radio installation and
holds SBE Certified Broadcast Engineer (CBRE), Certified
Broadcast Networking Technician (CBNT) and Digital Radio
Broadcasting specialist (DRB) cerifications.
In addition to traditional media, BDTS understands the
importance of "Web 2.0" - Chris, along with fellow Engineer
Kent Winrich, successfully launched the "Virtual Engineer",
an online forum dedicated to the discussion of Broadcast
Engineering. He’s also a co-host of the “This Week in Radio Tech” Podcast.
Chris has been recognized by
his peers in the industry as an Engineering Management
leader, and has served on the National Board of Directors
of the Society of Broadcast Engineers as the IT Committee
Chair, and on the Milwaukee SBE Chapter board as the Radio
liaison. He is also a published writer, with several of his
articles appearing in "Radio Guide" magazine. In 2008,
Chris was the recipient of the Milwaukee SBE's Wulliman Award.
